A hospital many of us already know
If you’ve been treated at the Princess of Wales Hospital, sat with someone who has, or simply been glad that decent healthcare is on your doorstep, you already know what this place means to Ely and the villages around it. Now we’re asking whether you can give a little of that back.
What we’re raising for
The Princess of Wales Hospital (Ely) Charitable Trust raises money for equipment, facilities and services that sit outside what NHS funding alone can stretch to. In the last year that’s included a new Audiology Suite and additional medical equipment for the Asthma clinic.
Our current goal is new ultrasound equipment for the hospital’s Diagnostic Centre. It’s an ambitious target, and reaching it means running more fundraising activity than our small trustee team can manage on its own.
Why we need volunteers
We’re looking for people to help with:
- Organising and running fundraising events
- Administration and general organising
- An IT specialist to help with our systems
- Spreading the word about the Trust’s work in the local community
- Supporting our fundraising team wherever the need is greatest
You don’t need medical experience, a fundraising background, or hours of spare time each week. Some of our volunteers help for a few hours a month, others get more involved. Both are genuinely useful to us.
Where the money goes
Every pound raised through the Trust is put towards a specific, named project agreed with the hospital, never into a general fund. It’s the same with volunteer time: what you give goes directly towards work you can see the result of.
